Ma kakvi, Kasnov je ili uzeo pare ili rusi imaju neki smrtonosan kompromat o njemu (što i nije iznenađujuće, budući da je u pitanju osvjedočeni seksualni predator i Epsteinov pajtos), ili oba. "The situation seems hopeless"

"I don't want to give up," says a Canadian doctor who had been offered a position at Harrisburg Medical Center. Her visa was denied because she is an Afghan citizen. She, too, does not want to give her name. "The situation seems hopeless," says the physician. Residents from abroad are filling critical gaps in the US healthcare system. The American Association of Medical Schools (AAMC) foresees a physician shortage over the next decade. More than 7,000 foreign-born residents were planned for US healthcare programs this year. Foreign medical graduates often take positions that are not as popular with locals, explains Donna Lamb of the NRMP organization, which helps find residency training opportunities for young physicians from abroad. "It's not like they want to come here and work in big, glamorous centers on the coast," says Lamb. "They really provide healthcare services for all of America."

 

Backbone of the Hospital

Foreign residents also often work in specialties that US applicants aren't particularly interested in. In internal medicine, the number is almost 40 percent. They are the "backbone" of the hospital, says Zaid Alrashid of Brookdale University Hospital in New York. Almost all of the foreign residents have managed to start their positions there – but some are still waiting. A resident from Egypt says she has now received an interview for her visa in mid-August. She doesn't know whether her position will still be available then.

 

"Don't leave the country"

The situation could now lead to acute shortages in some hospitals, says Kimberly Pierce Burke of the Association of Independent Academic Medical Centers (AiAMC). The facilities could have problems quickly filling the gaps, she explains. And that means fewer staff for patients. But even aspiring specialists who have made it to the US are nervous, says Sabesan Karuppiah, formerly in charge of a training program for foreign medical residents. "The motto is: 'Don't leave the country,'" Karuppiah says, describing the mood among the young people. They don't dare to visit their sick parents or travel home for their own wedding. "Everyone is afraid to leave, not knowing what will happen."

Jedna od najvećih snaga Amerike tokom cele njene istorije je to što su uvek uvozili najbolje i dovoljno dobre i dobre i tako se jačali. Fali im negde - uvezi. I sad ova kamarila pod nekom mračnjačkom ideologijom ukida to i tako direktno radi protiv države. Ne mogu da se setim ko i tačno kad je rekao da je ideološki cilj sadašnje američke vlasti da poništi tekovine 20. veka u smislu ljudskih prava. Ali, ovo zabranjivanje kvalifikovanoj i potrebnoj radnoj snazi da dođe i radi je zaostalo čak i za 19. vek.

Ah barem si iskljucio 1/3 😀 Trump je za sada I u prvom mandatu, I u drugom bio najbolji predsednik za Izrael I jevreje, ali....Hitler. Izgubilo je to snagu. Ajde prestani. Da, JDV je u neko vreme imao lose misljenje o Trampu, ljudi mogu da promene misljenje. Mozda ces I ti jednog dana. A lupetanje o jevrejima, stvarno, cerka mu je jevrejka, I unucad. @ters Sta se desilo, Dems su postali kao CCP, ako se ne slazes sa njima na bilo cemu, ti si fasista, neonazi ili rasista. Ne kazem da su komunisti, ali primenjuju istu taktiku. Dok Reps dozvoljavaju da imas drugacije misljenje, i jos uvek su Reps, kazu fine, ne podrzavas Trampa ali tvoje vrednosti su ok. Ako se slazes sa ABC, you are welcome. Prihvatili su gomilu Dems koji se u nekom aspektu slazu. Prihvatili su Independents, ok, nemate nase "tradicionalne" vrednosti da smo protiv abortusa, mozemo da pricamo o tome.

Imas ceo switch vrednosti, I dosta bivsih demokrata se osecaju dobro u Reps environment.

There's something almost poetic about being drowned by your own hypocrisy. But let's not romanticize stupidity.

Texas officials are furious. Floodwaters surge, at least 70 people have died - including many children - lives are wrecked,

and someone's gotta take the blame. So naturally, they point fingers at the National Weather Service.

The kicker?

They're blaming the very agency they tried to defund and gut.

Welcome to American politics, where irony isn't dead - it's underwater.

And if you thought it couldn't get more absurd, hold Marjorie Taylor Greene's tinfoil hat. The congresswoman has introduced a bill to criminalize the "injection or dispersion of chemicals" into the atmosphere to alter the weather - because she apparently thinks floods are caused by government weather-wizards casting rain spells over red states.

Yes. Really.

She tweeted:

"I am introducing a bill that prohibits the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity. It will be a felony offense. I have been researching weather."

Keith Olbermann's reply?

"You are the dumbest person in America.

The tragedy in Texas owes not to secret 'altering weather' schemes by... brownies and elves or whoever you think did it. It owes to you MAGA fucks cutting the NOAA and other forecasting budgets. Those dead bodies are at your door, you witch."

That about sums it up.

THE FORECAST THEY DIDN'T WANT TO PAY FOR

Here's the play-by-play:

On July 4‑5, flash floods devastated Central Texas after a historic downpour dumped up to 20 inches of rain in hours. The Guadalupe River surged over 26 feet, washing away campers at Camp Mystic. At least 70 people died - more than 20 of them children - and dozens remain missing.

The National Weather Service issued multiple flash flood warnings, including a rare "flash flood emergency," but many residents were asleep and emergency alerts failed to reach people in time.

Texas emergency officials blamed the NWS for underestimating the rainfall - forecasting 3 to 8 inches instead of the 20 that came. But critics quickly pointed out the real issue: Texas and the federal government have been slashing the agency's budget and staff for years.

NOAA and the NWS lost nearly 600 employees under Trump-era cuts, weakening radar operations, storm modeling, and local forecasting. Texas officials voting to defund science are now blaming science for not doing enough.

Governor Abbott called the alert system "ancient" and promised reforms. Trump declared a major disaster and deployed FEMA - while ignoring the fact that his administration stripped the very agencies now being blamed.

In short: they sabotaged the weather service, then got mad it didn't save them.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Wants To Make Weather Manipulation A Felony

 

It looks like Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has her head in the clouds.

In a Saturday morning post on X, formerly Twitter, the far-right Republican announced that she was introducing a bill that prohibits “the injection, release, or dispersion of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere for the express purpose of altering weather, temperature, climate, or sunlight intensity.”

“It will be a felony offense,” she said.

“I have been researching weather modification and working with the legislative counsel for months writing this bill,” the legislator continued, adding that the legislation will be similar to Florida’s Senate Bill 56.

“We must end the dangerous and deadly practice of weather modification and geoengineering,” she concluded.
