  1. bbc US President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and his Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, had been expected in London but they pulled out, sending Trump's Ukraine envoy, Gen Keith Kellogg, instead. On Tuesday evening Rubio spoke to UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy about what he hoped would be "substantive and good technical meetings". The US secretary of state said he would reschedule his trip to the UK in the coming months, posting on X: "I look forward to following up after the ongoing discussions." The White House said Witkoff would travel to Moscow this week for his fourth meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. All this comes amid reports in the Financial Times that Russia might be ready to halt its invasion along current front lines and give up some territorial ambitions in return for US recognition of Russian sovereignty over Crimea.
  2. Izgleda da nema veze sa ratom, ali ipak bbc Explosions have taken place at a Russian ammunition depot east of Moscow, the country's defence ministry has said. The blasts occurred in an ammunition warehouse at a defence facility in the western Vladimir region on Tuesday. The site is believed to be a key ammunition storage site for the Russian army. Russia's military blamed the blast on ammunition which had detonated after the storage building caught fire due to a "violation of safety requirements". A state of emergency has been declared in the Kirzhach district and residents of nearby villages have been evacuated. Both Russian and Ukrainian media channels and Telegram accounts posted videos and pictures from the site, showing a raging blaze with metres-high flames and mushroom clouds from the explosion. In a statement, Russia's Ministry of Defence said: "[On Tuesday], as a result of a fire on the territory of a military unit in the Vladimir region, ammunition stored in a warehouse detonated. "The cause of the fire is a violation of safety requirements when working with explosive materials." It added that there had been no casualties. A commission has been set up to investigate the incident. The site is a facility in the 51st Arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate, some 130 kilometres (80 miles) north-east of the Russian capital, local media reported.
  4. bbc The US is forecast to be hit the hardest among advanced economies because of uncertainty caused by tariffs, the IMF says. Growth is now expected to be 1.8% this year, down from the IMF's estimate of 2.7% for the US in January.
  6. DW The Kremlin on Monday expressed "satisfaction" that the United States has ruled out Ukraine's potential future membership of NATO. Washington's Ukraine envoy General Keith Kellogg said on Sunday that membership of the western military alliance was "off the table" for Kyiv – something which US President Donald Trump says was a cause of the Russian invasion. US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that "hopefully" a deal can be struck "this week" without specifying what that arrangement would entail. "Both will then start to do big business with the United States of America, which is thriving, and make a fortune," he said. Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday that the Kremlin will "analyze" proposals by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for a 30-day halt on air strikes against civilian infrastructure. Putin said the proposal was "a subject for a thorough study, maybe also bilaterally," according to the Russian Interfax news agency. "So we will analyze all this and make an appropriate decision for the future," he said.
  9. cnn There has been no comment so far from Kyiv or Moscow on the US proposal. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed willingness to agree to a peace deal with Moscow but said last month that his government would not recognize any occupied territories as Russian, calling that a “red line.”
  10. Sta sad? Bar 400% taksi Vatikanu i progon katolicke crkve i vernika iz USA?
  12. bbc "Russian artillery can still be heard in certain directions of the front, regardless of the Russian leader's promise of silence," he adds, noting that the situation "has become quieter" in some areas. Zelensky repeats that a proposal for a 30-day full and unconditional ceasefire "remains on the table" and says that Ukraine's actions are "symmetrical" to Russia's.
  13. bbc A senior Ukrainian military officer has told the BBC that his unit and others received orders to stop firing at Russian positions minutes after an Easter ceasefire announced by Vladimir Putin was due to start. According to this officer, units were told to record photo and video evidence of violations of the truce, and to return fire if needed. The officer told the BBC that the announcement had “caught everyone by surprise” and that while most wanted a ceasefire, there was still confusion at the frontline about what it would entail.
  14. Rubio je juce telefonski pricao i sa Lavrovim, mozda su nesto konkretno i dogovorili cnn “I want to update the prime minister on some of the negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and also some of the things that have happened even in the past 24 hours,” Vance said in Rome at a bilateral meeting with Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. “I think we have some interesting things to report on, of course, in private, some negotiations. I won’t prejudge them, but we do feel optimistic that we can hopefully bring this war, this very brutal war, to a close.”
  16. bbc The US will abandon trying to broker a Russia-Ukraine peace deal within days unless there are clear signs a truce can be reached, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned. Rubio said the US wanted to help end the war but was willing to move on if there were no immediate signs of progress. "We're not going to continue with this endeavour for weeks and months on end," Rubio said, adding that the US had "other priorities to focus on".
  17. Prosto covek ne zna gde vise uspeha ima Trumpova administracija, ekonomiji, unutrasnjoj ili spoljasnjoj politici, jednostavno svuda cveta cvece ovog proloca. cnn If Trump’s pledge to end the war in a day was far-fetched, the hope to secure a full truce by Easter – this weekend – also looks likely to fail. Russia has ramped up its strikes on Ukraine in recent weeks, despite Washington’s overtures to Moscow. The Center for Countering Disinformation, a Ukrainian think-tank, has pointed out that the supposed truce has done little to constrain Russia’s aggression. In the 22 days after the truce, the Russian army killed nearly 2.5 times more Ukrainians than during the same period before it was announced, the Center said in an update Tuesday.
  18. cnn US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump’s international envoy, are set to meet Ukrainian officials in Paris at a summit Thursday aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defenses against Russia’s unrelenting invasion.

  20. Just another day in the office for Mr False Claims cnn China’s dominance of the rare earths supply chain has emerged as among its most potent tools in a renewed trade war with the United States president. The minerals – used to power everything from iPhones to electric vehicles – are vital components for the kinds of advanced technology that will define the future. And unlike tariffs, it’s a front where Trump has little room to retaliate in kind. --- Shares of Boeing fell Tuesday following a report that China has halted the delivery of all its jets to airlines in the country as part of an escalating trade war that has enveloped the world’s two biggest economies. bbc Microchip maker Nvidia said it would be hit with $5.5bn (£4.2bn) in costs after the US government tightened export rules to China.
  21. bbc A hairdresser from St Petersburg has been given a jail term of five years and two months on a charge of spreading fake news about the Russian army. Anna Alexandrova denied posting eight anti-war messages on social media, insisting the case was motivated by a squabble over land with a neighbour. Her neighbour told the BBC that she had complained to prosecutors after Alexandrova had sent her daughter pictures of the war in Ukraine. Discrediting the armed forces and intentionally spreading fake news about the military became a crime in Russia within weeks of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
