Malo dobrih vesti pred sutrasnje izbore cnn Trump’s approval rating in the poll stands at 37%, the worst of his second term in CNN polling and roughly equivalent to his 36% approval rating at this point in his first term. And his disapproval rating, at 63%, is numerically the highest of either term, one point above the previous high of 62% as he was leaving office in January 2021. CNN’s Poll of Polls average, which puts Trump’s approval rating a few points higher at 41% as of Sunday, charts a similar trend since January. Approval of the president has dipped across partisan and demographic lines since the summer in CNN’s polling. Americans are broadly dissatisfied with the state of the country (68% say things are going badly) and the economy (72% say it’s in poor shape, and 47% call the economy and cost of living the top issue facing the US). About 6 in 10 (61%) say Trump’s policies have worsened economic conditions in the US. Roughly 8 in 10 consider the federal government shutdown a crisis (31%) or a major problem (50%), and 61% disapprove of Trump’s handling of it.

cnn On Friday, Ukrainian saboteurs blew up up three pipelines carrying fuel in the Moscow region, according to the country’s defense officials – the latest attack in a campaign by Kyiv to target refineries, pumping stations and pipelines. “The ‘Koltsevoy’ oil pipeline, which supplied the Russian occupation army,” was disabled on Friday in a special operation, according to a statement from Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (DI). “All three lines used by the aggressor to transport gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel were successfully and simultaneously blown up,” DI said. Unlike many recent attacks using drones and missiles, the Ukrainians used a sabotage team to lay explosive devices at the site, according to the DI video. There’s been no word from the Russian authorities on the explosion nor on any disruption to fuel supplies. But the local authorities in the nearby district of Zhukovsky reported power cuts for some consumers on Friday without specifying the cause. The pipeline that forms a ring around Moscow is fed from several refineries. It is capable of pumping up to 3 million tons of aviation fuel, up to 2.8 million tons of diesel fuel, and up to 1.6 million tons of gasoline annually, according to DI.

DW A 41-year-old German-Russian man has been sentenced to six years in prison for spying for Moscow and plotting sabotage in Germany. Judges in the Bavarian capital, Munich, said he had fought for a pro-Russian militia in eastern Ukraine before returning to plan attacks on targets in Germany.

Reuters Lukoil said Thursday it had accepted an offer from global commodity trader Gunvor to buy its foreign assets, which Russia’s second-largest oil company is seeking to sell after Washington imposed sanctions on it last week. The planned asset sale is the most consequential action so far by a Russian company resulting from Western sanctions imposed over the war in Ukraine, which began with Russia’s 2022 full-scale invasion of its neighbor. Lukoil said in a statement it had accepted an offer from Gunvor to sell Lukoil International GmbH, which controls the oil major’s foreign assets. Moscow-headquartered Lukoil accounts for around 2% of global oil output. Its biggest foreign asset is Iraq’s West Qurna 2 oil field, one of the world’s largest, in which it holds a 75% stake. It also owns the 190,000 bpd Lukoil Neftohim Burgas refinery in Bulgaria, the largest in the Balkans, as well as the Petrotel oil refinery in Romania. Lukoil supplies oil to Hungary and Slovakia, as well as to Turkey’s STAR refinery, which is owned by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and depends heavily on Russian crude. Lukoil also holds stakes in oil terminals as well as retail fuel chains in Europe and owns upstream and downstream projects in Central Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Kina i skandinavske zemlje prednjace.

Konacno nove sankcije na kojima se radilo mesecima unazad CNN The Trump administration on Wednesday imposed sanctions on Russia’s two largest oil companies as it called on Moscow to agree to an immediate ceasefire in the war with Ukraine. “Now is the time to stop the killing and for an immediate ceasefire,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement Wednesday announcing the sanctions. “Given President Putin’s refusal to end this senseless war, Treasury is sanctioning Russia’s two largest oil companies that fund the Kremlin’s war machine.” “Treasury is prepared to take further action if necessary to support President Trump’s effort to end yet another war. We encourage our allies to join us in and adhere to these sanctions,” he said. The sanctions hit Rosneft and Lukoil and almost three dozen of their subsidiaries. Earlier Wednesday, Bessent had previewed the sanctions as “one of the largest,” noting Trump’s disappointment with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the state of talks to end the war in Ukraine, following a summit in Alaska more than two months ago.

Izgleda da nista od tog samita u Budimpesti bbc At least seven people have been killed including two children during intense Russian drone and missile strikes on Ukraine, officials say. A kindergarten was hit in Ukraine's second biggest city Kharkiv and there was widespread damage in Kyiv. Children were among the 27 people wounded. ____ Hours earlier, US President Donald Trump said his plans for an imminent summit in Budapest with Russia's Vladimir Putin had been shelved as he did not want a "wasted meeting". President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attacks proved Moscow had not come under enough pressure for its continued war. The Kremlin has rejected calls for a ceasefire along the current front lines made both by Trump and European leaders. However, Russian officials said on Wednesday that preparation for a Trump-Putin summit was continuing, disputing the US president's assessment that it had been put on hold. ____ Zelensky and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson signed a letter of intent that could see Sweden supply 100 to 150 domestically produced Gripen fighter jets to Ukraine. The jets are expected to be delivered over a 10-15 year timeline, with the first sent to Ukraine "within three years", Kristersson added. ___ Ukraine's air force said Russia had sent 405 drones and 28 missiles, 15 of which were ballistic. The capital was under a ballistic missile warning for most of the night, and echoed to the sound of explosions. By morning rescue teams fought fires in residential buildings.

cnn India has seemingly pushed back against US President Donald Trump’s claim it had agreed to stop importing Russian oil, signaling the issue that has strained ties is unlikely to be resolved soon. Trump on Wednesday said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had “assured me today that they (India) will not be buying oil from Russia,” which is subject to US sanctions, describing it as a “big step.” But on Thursday India’s foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal told reporters he was “not aware of any conversation” between Trump and Modi, or any assurance from the Indian leader that he would stop purchasing Russian oil.

bbc Donald Trump says he's speaking to Russian President Vladimir Putin now. The US president writes on social media: "The conversation is ongoing, a lengthy one, and I will report the contents, as will President Putin, at its conclusion". The conversation comes a day before Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is due to visit Trump in Washington DC. Members of Congress are considering moving forward with a bipartisan bill on further Russia sanctions. The top Senate Republican, John Thune, told reporters moments ago that “the time has come” for a vote on the bill which has been in the works for some time. Senators are also reportedly working to arrange a bipartisan meeting with Zelensky when he is in Washington tomorrow.

cnn President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured him earlier Wednesday that he would halt Russian oil imports. “I was not happy that India was buying oil, and (Modi) assured me today that they will not be buying oil from Russia. That’s a big step. Now we’ve got to get China to do the same thing,” Trump added. And he suggested India’s move to cease Russian oil imports would speed the end of the war in Ukraine. “If India doesn’t buy oil, it makes it much easier, and they’re not going to buy, they assured me they will, within a short period of time, they will not be buying oil from Russia,” Trump said. “And they’ll go back to Russia after the war is over.”

bbc Overnight a Russian drone and missile attack on energy infrastructure in the Poltava region of Ukraine has halted the operation of gas production facilities belonging a major energy firm. DTEK Naftogaz confirmed the night-time bombardment of its facilities and its operations in Poltava were stopped as a result of the strikes in a statement on Telegram. Poltava regional head Volodymyr Kohut said falling debris and direct hits damaged oil and gas sites. He reported no casualties but added more than 6,000 people were left without gas supply. We’re working to verify social media footage of a big smoke cloud on a horizon, reported to be a gas site on fire in Poltava region. Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched hundreds of drones and missiles towards Ukraine last night. It said initial investigations showed there was direct hits from 14 missiles and 37 drones at 14 locations - and debris from downed targets fell in two other places. The worst-hit regions are Poltava and Kharkiv.

CNN Violent clashes have erupted between Hamas and rival groups in several areas across Gaza, including an incident that culminated in an apparent public execution, as worries grow about the security situation following Israel’s withdrawal from parts of the territory. Reports of violence have been shared widely on social media channels, with one particularly gruesome video showing a group of masked fighters, some of whom are wearing green Hamas headbands, killing eight blindfolded people in a square in Gaza City while large crowds are watching, a possible sign of the brutality Hamas is using to reassert itself as the security force.
