Meni ovo zvuci kao da je Ukrajna na kolenima pred USA bbc Zelensky expressed a willingness to consider a partial truce - in the air, and at sea - if Moscow did likewise. He also expressed regret for the way the White House meeting had gone. That's despite many observers believing he was the victim of a political trap. He again thanked America, naming Trump specifically, for previous aid, and said he was prepared to sign a deal with the US on accessing Ukrainian minerals. Ukraine has resisted three years of full-scale invasion by its enemy, Russia. But it's the actions of an ally that's left its underbelly exposed - the radical pivot of US foreign policy by President Trump.

I tu je Trump mogao da prekine i kaze 'ok, I feel you, bro, we are on top this etc umesto sto je poceo da ga vredja i ponizava. I opet, 10 godina naspram jednog pressa. A kako drugacije?

bbc Border reports from Ukraine confirm US aid into the country has been paused, Polish Prime minister Donald Tusk has said. Tusk told a news conference ahead of the government’s weekly meeting in Warsaw that information had been received from both the border and the international hub for supplies to Ukraine at Jasionka airport near the city of Rzeszow, south-eastern Poland. “Today, a decision about suspending American help for Ukraine and to possibly start lifting sanctions on Russia was announced," Tusk said. "We have no reason today to think that they are just words. Reports coming in from the border, also from our hub in Jasionka, confirm the announcements of the American side. “The situation is serious. I don’t need to convince anyone that it requires special concentration from the government,” he told ministers.

I kako on pokusava da 'resi rat', kako kazes? Bas vrhunska i velikodusna pomoc, nema sta.

DW analiza Steps that seemed unthinkable just a short time ago are being openly discussed in Berlin. There is talk of huge new multi-billion-euro programs. The goal is to enable the Bundeswehr to defend the country on its own, without the US and in cooperation with other European countries. And to continue to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia, even if the massive American support that has been provided to date were to be completely or partially withdrawn. Sums of up to €400 billion ($419 billion) have been mentioned. This is money that Germany will have to borrow. This is being called a "special fund." However, this would require a two-thirds majority in the German parliament. And that would have to come from the politicians who are still in the parliament that was formed in 2021. This is because the new parliament, or Bundestag, which will hold its inaugural session no later than March 25th, does not have the necessary two-thirds majority to pass such a resolution. This is mainly due to the large number of votes cast for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) and the Left Party.

cnn “The impact is going to be big. I would call it crippling,” said Mark Cancian, a senior adviser with the Center for Strategic and International Studies who has closely followed the war. Cancian estimated that Ukraine would feel the impacts of the pause in aid within two to four months, as aid from European countries helps Kyiv remain in the fight for now. “That’s why they don’t fall off a cliff, but when your supplies get cut in half, eventually that shows up on the front lines,” Cancian said. “Their front lines would continue to buckle and eventually they would break and Ukraine would have to accept an adverse – even catastrophic – peace settlement.” But Cancian warned the Trump administration has more forms of aid to Ukraine that can be paused or canceled altogether, including intelligence sharing and the training of Ukrainian forces. “There might be a way out of this, but it’s going to be extremely humiliating for Zelensky,” Cancian said. Ukraine could likely sustain its current fighting pace for several weeks — perhaps until the start of the summer — before a US pause would begin to have a major effect, Western officials said in the wake of the decision. The Biden administration rushed shipments of weapons to Ukraine in its waning days, providing the country with large stockpiles of advanced weapons. It is those sophisticated weapons — including the long-range ATACMS missiles — that have allowed Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory, a strategy that could suffer if those weapons remain paused. While European nations may be able to replace US shipments of artillery, supplemented by Ukraine’s own growing defense industry, the most advanced weapons used by Kyiv come from the United States.

Kako on to brani Ukrajnu? Kako?

Nova porcija zaustavljanja rata za 24 sata bbc US President Donald Trump says he hasn't "talked about" suspending military aid to Ukraine following his angry exchange in the Oval Office with Volodymyr Zelensky, but "we'll see what happens". Speaking at a press conference, Trump also says Zelensky should "be more appreciative". He adds that the Ukrainian president "better not be right" that the end of the war is "very, very far away". Any agreement for peace, the president says, should be reached with Russia and Ukraine, with "assent and consent" from Europe and the US. But "maybe somebody doesn't want to make a deal", he says, and if they don't they "won't be around for very long".

Kako to Trump brani i hrani Ukrajnu? Uzasna, uzasna prevrtljivost i manipulacija cinjenicama.

Gledao sam mu press u petak pred odlazak na vikend u svoju rezidenciju.

cnn As US President Donald Trump pushes for “a deal” to end the war in Ukraine – and dresses down Ukraine’s president in front of reporters at the White House – Moscow every day keeps launching deadly attacks against Ukraine. Trump said that he was convinced after the call that the Russian leader wants to end the war. “I think he wants to stop fighting. I see that. We spoke long and hard,” the US president said. Russia has launched more than 3,000 drones and at least 35 missiles at Ukraine since the phone call according to the Ukrainian Airforce. As well as the more than 75 civilians killed, nearly 300 others, including many children, have been injured, according to a CNN count based on statements from Ukrainian officials. Among those killed in Ukraine in recent weeks was Olga Moroz, a baker born in 1968, who died when a Russian rocket hit the yard of her home in Kramatorsk. Local media quoted her friends as saying she was a hard worker who was always cheerful and was taking care of her elderly mother. A Russian missile hit a building in Kryvyi Rih, crushing 21-year-old Vladimir Pimenov. Local media said the man, a talented dancer, died in hospital. Pimenov’s girlfriend was critically injured in the strike and remains in hospital, the report said. In the town of Bilytske, in the Donetsk region, a Russian strike on a residential building killed Yevhen and Olga Buryane, young parents of two children. Local volunteers have organized a fundraiser in support of the orphans. Several Ukrainian civilians were killed on Friday, as Trump and Zelensky were preparing for and held their disastrous meeting at the White House. A civilian passenger was killed when a Russian drone hit a minibus in Kherson, according to the Ukrainian prosecutors, while two civilian men in their early 60s were killed by Russian drones cycling through the town on Lyman in eastern Ukraine. Over the weekend, at least seven more Ukrainian civilians, including a teenager, were killed in Russian attacks.

bbc Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says in his daily press call that the military operation in Ukraine will continue until all objectives are reached. On the topic of a potential peace plan being reached with Ukraine, he says there isn't a "coordinated" or "initiated" one on the agenda yet. Speaking about growing divisions in the West, he says: We see that the collective West has started to become less collective. A fragmentation of the collective West has begun, and its positions of different countries and groups of countries are becoming more nuanced.

DW France and the UK are proposing a one-month truce "in the air, on the seas and on energy infrastructure" in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron told reporters on his way to the summit. Speaking to France's Le Figaro newspaper, Macron also suggested that European countries should boost their defense spending to between 3 and 3.5% of GDP — a much higher target than the existing 2% NATO target — in light of shifting US foreign policy priorities. "For three years, the Russians have spent 10 percent of their GDP on defense," said Macron. "So we have to prepare for what's next." He also said that "there will be no European troops on Ukrainian soil in the coming weeks." The French president stressed that "we want peace," but not "at any price, without guarantees."

Most Americans (66%) see Russia as unfriendly or an enemy, but 41% of Republicans call it friendly or an ally, compared with 26% of Democrats who say the same. The public as a whole is split on whether the U.S. should send weapons and military aid to Ukraine - 51% say it should, 49% that it should not. Rezultati lokalnih izbora u Hamburgu. DW Germany's Social Democrats (SPD) and the Greens look set to be able to continue their coalition in the northern state of Hamburg following a regional election Sunday, a projection by public broadcaster ARD showed. Support for the SPD fell to 33.5% from 39.2% in 2020, but it remains the largest party in Hamburg. The center-right Christian Democrats (CDU) gained ground and is forecast to come in second with 19.5%. In the last state election, the CDU achieved 11.2%. The Greens, who are currently in a coalition with the SPD in Hamburg, came in third place with 17.5%. The socialist Left Party is on course to reach double digits, 11.5%, for the first time in Hamburg, according to the forecasts. The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, also gained significantly, reaching 8.5%, compared to 5.3% at the last state election. Most of the focus in Sunday's poll was on how the outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz's SPD would fare in Hamburg after the party suffered its worst nationwide result in federal elections last week.

bbc Starmer says that any new deal to support Ukraine must be backed by strength, and that every nation must contribute in the best way it can, by all taking responsibility and stepping up their own share. The prime minister says leaders at the summit agreed four important steps: *To keep military aid flowing into Ukraine while the war is ongoing, and increase economic pressure on Russia *Any lasting peace must ensure Ukraine's sovereignty and security, and Ukraine must be at the table for any peace talks *In the event of a peace deal, European leaders will aim to deter any future invasion by Russia into Ukraine *There would be a "coalition of the willing" to defend Ukraine and guarantee peace in the country Starmer announces that the UK government will allow Ukraine to use £1.6bn of UK export finance to buy more than five thousand air defence missiles. He says these will be made in Belfast, creating jobs in the UK's defence sector. He says the goal is to put Ukraine in the strongest position so they can negotiate from a position of strength.

She also stressed security guarantees are of the "utmost importance" for Ukraine but they need to be comprehensive.

DW 'Europe must understand its strength,' Poland's Tusk says Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed that Europe must believe in its power, as he headed for a summit on Ukraine held in London. "Europe has an advantage over everyone here," Tusk said, adding that with some 2.6 million professional soldiers, Europe has more troops than the US, China or Russia. He also stressed the continent's combat aircraft and artillery strength. "Today in Europe there is a deficit of imagination and courage," he said. "Europe must understand its strength." Tusk also expressed his support for an Italian proposal for a US-Europe summit. The proposal was put forth by Italian Prime Minister Giorga Meloni, to discuss how "to deal with the great challenges of today, starting with Ukraine."
