A half century later, the Gurney Flap is still one of the go-to performance tools for race car designers and engineers. Jedan od najtalentovanijih vozaca koji su ikada seli u trkacki auto Bruks je svoju F1 karijeru zapoceo za to vreme neuobicajeno mlad s 23 godine 1955 na trkama van sampionata (uzeo pobedu na VN Sirakuze). Ostace zabelezen u istoriji kao prvi pobednik u F1 bolidu britanske proizvodnje i kao vicesampion 1959. U 39 startova na zvanicnim F1 trkama ostvario je 6 pobeda, 10 podijuma 3 pol pozicije i 3 najbrza kruga. Bio je uspesan i u trkama sportskih prototipova. Karijeru su mu obelezila dva teska udesa, na VN Britanije 1956. na svom debiju na trci za svetski sampionat, i na 24h Lemana 1957. Oba udesa dogodila su se u bolidima za koje je Bruks znao da nisu 100% ispravni, i uzrokovani su tehnickim problemima. Nakon ovog, on je promenio svoju zivotnu filozofiju i odlucio da vise nikad nece sesti u bolid u ciju ispravnost sumnja. Ovo ga je i kostalo titule 1959, kada je na poslednjoj trci sezone nakon kontakta sa timskim kolegom fon Tripsom skrenuo u boks insistirajuci da mehanicari pregledaju bolid sto ga je kostalo pobede koja bi mu obezbedila titulu. Kao sto je rano poceo svoju trkacku karijeru rano ju je i zavrsio, 1961. godine, osvojivsi podijum na svojoj poslednjoj trci za VN SAD nakon cega se posvetio profesiji zubara za koju se skolovao. zoran59 Posted July 7, 2022 Share Posted July 7, 2022 Aaaaahhhh... Prvi Munch. Razbices me sa secanjima. Circa 1966. Okvir je bio modifikovani Norton, Masina NSU Prinz, a menjac iz Horexa (onda je jos vecina motora imala odvojena kucista za motor i menjac pa su bile moguce svakakve kombinacije). Prvi put sam ga video u nemackom Das Motorrad magazinu. Bilo ga je mojuce (tj. magazin) kupiti kod nas, pa su ga naizmenicno (svaki drugi broj) kupovali moji cale i strika - bio je za jugoslovenske prilike skup, ali su ga pratili svi muski u familiji. Bio sam klinac, ali sam jedan komentar upamtio valjda bas zato sto ga nisam razumeo: strika je rekao da je potrebna tako velika i mocna prednja kocnica vec samo da zaustavi tezinu same kocnice... Inaca, taj magazin nikada nismo bacali. ja sam iznova citao stare brojeve i testove sve do odlaska iz Yu. Kolekciju je nasledio moj brat (polubrat, iz tatinog drugog braka, 20 godina mladji) i ona postoji i danas. Munch je pravio te motore u raznim verzijama sve do kraja '70-ih, ako ne i duze. Poslednja verzija je vec bila izbusena na 1800 ccm i imala turbo! Jos malo trivija. Tim motorom se odusevio neki momak iz Ljubljane. Uhvatio se posla 1971. kad je negde naisao na izgoreli NSU 1200C, ali sa sacuvanom masinom. Uspeo je da je montira u neki engleski okvir (mislim da je bila BSA Rocket) i napravi svoju verziju Muncha. Ne secam se koji je bio menjac. Taj motor je testirao Niko Mihelic, koji je onda bio zaduzen za moto-sekciju u tadasnjem Auto magazinu. Dosta dobro ga je ocenio. Pa, kad vec dosadjujem... Auto magazin je 1968. poceo izlaziti u Ljubljani, pokrenulaga je izdavacka kuca Delo. Prodavan je po citavoj Yu, narod je bio gladan takvie literature. Tako su se (u ondasnjem "bratstvo i jedinstvo" duhu) udruzili Delo i Politika, pa je vec 1970. magazin imao dve redakcije - jednu u Ljubljani a drugu u Beogradu, i stampan je i na slovenackom i na srpskohrvatskom jeziku. I tu kolekciju, od '68. pa negde do kraja '70-ih imamo (ja sam iselio '81.), valjda ce je sinovi mog burazera procitati. 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
