2. CDC objavio da su testirali uzorke krvi iz Crvenog Krsta iz decembra 2019 - koja je donirana i nasli pozitivne slucajeve (cak i nakon provere da nije neki drugi virus) The new coronavirus infected people in the U.S. in mid-December 2019, a few weeks before it was officially identified in China and about a month earlier than public health authorities found the first U.S. case, according to a government study published Monday. The findings significantly strengthen evidence suggesting the virus was spreading around the world well before public health authorities and researchers became aware, upending initial thinking about how early and quickly it emerged. Scientists at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found evidence of infection in 106 of 7,389 blood donations collected by the American Red Cross from residents in nine states across the U.S., according to the study published online in the journal Clinical Infectious Diseases. The scientists based their study on blood samples that the American Red Cross collected between Dec. 13 and Jan. 17 and later sent to the CDC for testing to see if any had antibodies to the new coronavirus, which is named SARS-CoV-2. “SARS-CoV-2 infections may have been present in the U.S. in December 2019, earlier than previously recognized,” the authors wrote.

Interesatno da si pitao ovo i evo upravo naleteh na nesto: What have studies into vitamin D and Covid-19 shown? When? September. By who? Cordoba University in Spain. What did scientists study? 50 Covid-19 hospital patients with Covid-19 were given vitamin D. Their health outcomes were compared with 26 volunteers in a control group who were not given the tablets. What did they find? Only one of the 50 patients needed intensive care and none died. Half of 26 virus sufferers who did not take vitamin D were later admitted to intensive care and two died. What were the study's limitations? Small pool of volunteers. Patients' vitamin D levels were not checked before admission. Comorbidities were not taken into consideration. When? September. By Who? University of Chicago. What did scientists study? 500 Americans' vitamin D levels were tested. Researchers then compared volunteers' levels with how many caught coronavirus. What did they find? 60 per cent higher rates of Covid-19 among people with low levels of the 'sunshine vitamin'. What were the study's limitations? Researchers did not check for other compounding factors. Unclear whether or not volunteers were vitamin D deficient at the time of their coronavirus tests. People's age, job and where they lived - factors which greatly increase the chance of contracting the virus - were not considered. When? September. By Who? Tehran University, in Iran, and Boston University. What did scientists study? Analysed data from 235 hospitalized patients with Covid-19. What did they find? Patients who had sufficient vitamin D - of at least 30 ng/mL— were 51.5 per cent less likely to die from the disease. They also had a significantly lower risk of falling seriously ill or needing ventilation. Patients who had plenty of the nutrient also had less inflammation - often a deadly side effect of Covid-19. What were the study's limitations? Confounding factors, such as smoking, and social economic status were not recorded for all patients and could have an impact on illness severity. When? July. By Who? Tel Aviv University, Israel. What did scientists study? 782 people who tested positive for coronavirus had their vitamin d levels prior to infection assessed retrospectively and compared to healthy people. What did they find? People with vitamin D levels below 30 ng/ml - optimal - were 45 per cent more likely to test positive and 95 per cent more likely to be hospitalised. What were the study's limitations? Did not look at underlying health conditions and did not check vitamin D levels at the time of infection. When? June. By Who? Brussels Free University. What did scientists study? Compared vitamin D levels in almost 200 Covid-19 hospital patients with a control group of more than 2,000 healthy people. What did they find? Men who were hospitalised with the infection were significantly more likely to have a vitamin D deficiency than healthy men of the same age. Deficiency rates were 67 per cent in the COVID-19 patient group, and 49 per cent in the control group. The same was not found for women. What were the study's limitations? Independent scientists say blood vitamin D levels go down when people develop serious illness, which the study did not take into consideration. This suggests that it is the illness that is leading to lower blood vitamin D levels in this study, and not the other way around. When? June. By who? Inha University in Incheon, South Korea. What did scientists study? 50 hospital patients with Covid-19 were checked for levels of all vital vitamins and compared to a control group. What did they find? 76 per cent of them were deficient in vitamin D, and a severe vitamin D deficiency (<10 ng/dl) was found in 24 per cent of Covid-19 patients and just 7 per cent in the control group. What were the study's limitations? Small sample size and researchers never accounted for vitamin levels dropping when they fall ill. When? June. By Who?. Independent scientists in Indonesia. What did scientists study? Checked vitamin D levels in 780 Covid-19 hospital patients. What did they find? Almost 99% of patients who died had vitamin D deficiency. Of patients with vitamin D levels higher than 30 ng/ml - considered optimal - only per cent died. What were the study's limitations? It was not peer-reviewed by fellow scientists, a process that often uncovers flaws in studies. When? May. By Who? University of Glasgow. What did scientists study? Vitamin D levels in 449 people from the UK Biobank who had confirmed Covid-19 infection. What did they find? Vitamin D deficiency was associated with an increased risk in infection - but not after adjustment for con-founders such as ethnicity. It led to the team to conclude their 'findings do not support a potential link between vitamin D concentrations and risk of Covid-19 infection.' What were the study's limitations? Vitamin D levels were taken 10 to 14 years beforehand. When? May. By Who? University of East Anglia. What did scientists study? Average levels of vitamin D in populations of 20 European countries were compared with Covid-19 infection and death rates at the time. What did they find? The mean level of vitamin D in each country was 'strongly associated' with higher levels of Covid-19 cases and deaths. The authors said at the time: 'The most vulnerable group of population for Covid-19 is also the one that has the most deficit in vitamin D.' What were the study's limitations? The number of cases in each country was affected by the number of tests performed, as well as the different measures taken by each country to prevent the spread of infection. And it only looked at correlation, not causation. When? May. By Who? Northwestern University. What did scientists study? Crunched data from dozens of studies around the world that included vitamin D levels among Covid-19 patients. What did they find? Patients with a severe deficiency are twice as likely to experience major complications and die. What were the study's limitations? Cases and deaths in each country was affected by the number of tests performed.

Jel zna neko jel ovo tacno i mozda detalje: Switzerland is emerging as a model for how the coronavirus can be contained without a national lockdown, after daily new infections halved since the start of November despite pubs, restaurants, gyms and sports remaining open in much of the country. The figures were hailed as a triumph for the “Swiss special way” by Swiss government doctors last week, and will be seen as evidence that regional tiers can work in the UK. Rather than ordering a general lockdown, Switzerland allowed regions to decide their own measures and only the worst-hit imposed tough restrictions. But critics have charged that the success came at too high a price, after the country experienced some of the highest death rates in Europe. https://news.yahoo.com/switzerland-halves-infections-without-national-154343012.html

Izmedju ostalog, i zasto se virus siri i medju onima koji postuju mere: zato sto su mere idiotske There was no way for the general public to know, at first, that the recommendation to stay 6 feet apart originated in part from a 3-foot rule determined by decades-old studies of card-game players, and that the recommended spacing had been doubled on the basis of research into the spread of the original SARS virus through airplane cabins. And what about the widespread rule that each child in school should be allotted 44 square feet of space? WIRED’s David Zweig traced that back to a consultant who’d found it in an education magazine, which in turn had bungled what was already a faulty calculation by an educational nonprofit. Some pandemic guidelines are even stranger and more mysterious. In an effort to stop people from going out unnecessarily and spreading Covid-19 as winter approached in the southern hemisphere, the South African government prevented the sale of open-toed shoes and shorts (unless they were intended to be worn over leggings), on the grounds that any trip to purchase such articles of clothing would be inessential. In a seemingly backward move, the city of Madrid has closed parks but allows some indoor dining to continue. Meanwhile, Canada’s chief medical officer recommended that people engaged in sexual activity wear masks. https://www.wired.com/story/a-lack-of-transparency-is-undermining-pandemic-policy/ Na pocetku texta NEW YORKERS ARE still puzzling over a new, state-wide rule that bars, restaurants, and gyms must close at 10 pm to stop the spread of Covid. Was this based on some brand-new evidence that the virus mutates like a gremlin, getting worse at night? You wouldn’t know it from Governor Andrew Cuomo’s announcement, which did not cite any research whatsoever that might justify this policy. The announcement did claim, however, that New York uses “more science than any state in the nation.”

Interesuje me, kako objasnjavas zatvaranje biblioteka?

First, a person says something. Then, another person restates what they purportedly said so as to make it seem as if their view is as offensive, hostile, or absurd. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/01/putting-monsterpaint-onjordan-peterson/550859/ Mozda ces razumeti zasto necu da se bavim sa izjavama tipa "znaci ti pokusavas da kazes...", "znaci kako sam ja razumela" ili slicnim licnim utiscima. ukljucujuci "ti govoris...." nesto sto ja uopste ne govorim.

LA naravno sumnja da je virus religiozan i politicki aktivan, jer oni misle da u crkvi i na protestima virusa uopste nema.: San Mateo County officials also announced a new stay-at-home order – prohibiting residents from leaving their homes to gather with other households from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Monday night. During those hours, no gatherings are allowed among households, with certain exemptions. Under Purple Tier restrictions, businesses and activities that may have been operating indoors in the county – including places of worship, movie theaters, gyms and museums – must move outdoors or close. Shopping malls and all retail must operate at no more than 25 percent capacity. “We have not seen numbers like this in quite a while and we really need to reverse this incredibly troubling trend,” County Manager Mike Collage said in a news release. “What’s important to remember is that we can reverse the trend as long as we follow common-sense health and safety practices.” San Mateo County health officials reported an approximately 85 percent spike in new COVID-19 cases from October to November. The rollback to Purple is due to the county’s new adjusted case rate of 7.6 per 100,000 population. San Francisco health officials had taken to social media on Friday, warning that a move into the Purple Tier was imminent. “Unfortunately, the number of tests (in the city/county) coming back positive in the last 4 weeks has increased 265%,” San Francisco Health Director Dr. Grant Colfax tweeted. “That means just in the last month, our positivity case rate was 0.81% and today is 2.15% and going up.” The last time the San Francisco Health Department updated its public COVID dashboard was on Nov 25. At that time, there were 15,342 active cases in the city. The Mission and Bayview Hunter’s Point neighborhoods have been hit the hardest. The Marina District and Presidio Heights were just a notch below.
