Good work, Mr Trump!
  3. DW German Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil said that Europe's ties with the United States were "disintegrating" amid a "historic period of upheaval" under President Donald Trump's administration. "The transatlantic alliance is undergoing a much more profound upheaval than we have been willing to acknowledge until now," Klingbeil said Wednesday is a speech in Berlin. "The transatlantic relationship as we have known it is currently disintegrating." --- The president of the German Armed Forces' Reservists' Association calls for troops from Europe to be sent to Greenland. Patrick Sensburg says the move would prevent a US takeover of the island, warning Europe should take Donald Trump's threats seriously.
  5. cnn Norway is sending two defense personnel to Greenland, a spokesperson for the Norwegian Ministry of Defense has confirmed to CNN. It comes after the Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore Sandvik told Reuters on Wednesday that the personnel would “map out the further cooperation between (NATO) allies.” A body of UN experts has backed the right to self-determination for the people of Greenland, following “deep concerns” over US President Donald Trump’s stated intention to take control of the self-governing territory of Denmark. Any attempt to “modify” Greenland’s territorial or constitutional status would not only violate international law, but could also “undermine” regional stability, the experts, appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council, said in a statement Wednesday.
  6. Pocetak kraja NATO, nikakve druge sile nisu uspele da ga uniste, ali Trump ce mu doci glave cnn Sweden sent an unspecified number of troops to Greenland today following Denmark’s request to do so, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced on X. Germany is sending a “reconnaissance team” of 13 military personnel to Greenland tomorrow for “an exploration mission” from January 15 to 17, the German Defense Ministry said in a statement Wednesday. Leaders from Denmark and Greenland said a “fundamental disagreement” persists with the Trump administration over the future of the territory following their meeting with Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Today’s meeting came after President Donald Trump said “anything less” than US control of Greenland is “unacceptable.”

cnn A 26-year-old Iranian protester detained on Thursday may be executed today, according to a family member and the US State Department. Erfan Soltani was not allowed a lawyer or retrial after being sentenced to death in a rushed trial, said Somayeh, a family member who did not want her full name published due to security concerns. Somayeh called on Trump, who has encouraged those demonstrating across Iran, to come to the aid of protesters. “Our demand now is that Trump truly stand behind the words he said, because the Iranian people came to the streets based on those statements,” Somayeh said. “An unarmed population trusted these words and is now under gunfire. I beg you, please do not let Erfan be executed.”

Namerno ili greskom, mozda saznamo nekad. cnn Iran’s Minister of Justice Amir Hossein Rahimi has said anyone who was arrested on the streets from January 8 onwards is guilty of taking part in “an internal war.” Rahimi distinguished between the current protests and those before Thursday, January 8, which he said the government considers legitimate protests over economic grievances. However, he argued that from January 8 onwards, “this wasn’t just protests, but this was an internal war. Anyone who has been arrested in that time frame is guilty because they were at the scene.” On Monday, the number of protesters killed in just over two weeks of demonstrations passed 500, according to HRANA. Yesterday, that figure soared to 1850, then jumped to more than 2,400 a few hours later. Compared to other periods of unrest, this is the highest death toll in the country during protests in decades.

  10. Sad gledam tabelu i ostao sam bez teksta. Stravicne zrtve, zaista.

cnn What began as the regime’s age-old riot-control methods quickly escalated into advanced techniques to suppress protests, combining cutting-edge military technology with sophisticated psychological operations, according to experts. Low-flying surveillance drones, signal jammers, a rapid-response propaganda apparatus, and the violent deployment of force were unleashed simultaneously by a regime keen to learn from each wave of unrest. Protesters were heavily surveilled with CCTV cameras on the streets, but even those who chose to protest from their homes by shouting anti-regime slogans from their windows were being watched. Iranian police distributed a video titled “Identifable Sounds” showing drones hovering outside apartment buildings to find people chanting against the regime. Set to ominous background music, the footage showed a drone operator peering into residential windows to identify people chanting “death to the dictator,” followed by scenes of security officials marking buildings with warning stickers, and in some cases, arresting residents. “We got information that someone in your building was chanting and it was coming from your apartment,” a member of the security forces tells a man in the blurred video posted by Iranian media outlets on social media. The post citing Iran’s national police read, “Everything is under surveillance.”

Prakticno je Trump onom svojom najavom 'lock and loaded' dao zeleno svetlo mulama da rade ovo sto rade.

  15. cnn Russia launched more than 300 attack drones on Ukraine overnight, as well as 18 ballistic missiles and 7 cruise missiles, Zelensky said in a social media post on Tuesday. “The situation in the Kyiv region is not easy – several hundred thousand households are currently without power,” Zelensky said. Tuesday’s forecast for the Ukrainian capital shows snowy weather and a high of 14 degrees Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius). Kateryna Serzhan, 36, who lives in Kyiv with her husband and 5-year-old daughter, said that on Monday her family only had electricity for an hour and a half. Meanwhile in Russia, the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said Tuesday that residents may have to evacuate from the area if the power supply situation deteriorates, following a Ukrainian strike on a power plant substation on Friday night that left about 600,000 people without power.

DW US President Donald Trump on Monday announced countries doing business with Iran will face a 25% tariff on "any and all business being done with the United States of America." "Effective immediately, any Country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a Tariff of 25% on any and all business being done with the United States of America. This Order is final and conclusive," Trump wrote on his social media platform. China, Brazil, Turkey and Russia are among economies that do business with Tehran. But there's no clarity on whether the announcement affects all business partners or some of them.

Kazu 480 zrtava medju demonstrantima. DW ekspert za Iran Daniel Gerlach, a Middle East expert and the editor-in-chief of Zenith magazine, said that while the protests in Iran are raging, the country's opposition is anything but organized. "The Iranianregime has made sure such opposition would never exist," he told DW News. Those seeking the return of the Shah — who was ousted by Ayatollah Khomeini in the 1979 Islamic revolution — might be vocal and well-organized, but they remain a minority, Gerlach said. "Very rarely have people inside Iran said it would be a good idea to reestablish the monarchy," he added. Regarding the Iranian regime's current situation, Gerlach says the situation is far from looking like it is going to collapse. According to the journalist, the Islamic Republic's five pillars — the intelligence service, the Revolutionary Guard, the clerics, the judiciary — all seem to be intact rather than weakening or defecting to the protesters' side.

  25. cnn Russia attacked Ukraine with a hypersonic Oreshnik missile overnight Thursday, a rare use of one of its most advanced weapons during the latest onslaught targeting the country amid freezing temperatures. Several explosions and a ballistic missile strike on a critical infrastructure facility were reported by authorities in the western city of Lviv. In Kyiv a CNN reporter said that the attack began around midnight, starting with multiple drone strikes on residential buildings. Streetlights flickered before large parts of the city were plunged into darkness, as a thick fog settled over the streets and temperatures plummeted to –5 degrees Celsius. Four people were killed and 10 others wounded in the attack, according to the city’s mayor Vitali Klitschko, who said “critical infrastructure” had also been damaged.
