  1. Jos jedna tacka koju sam zaboravio. Homelessness in the United States In the United States, the number of homeless people on a given night in January 2023 was more than 650,000 according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Homelessness has increased in recent years, in large part due to an increasingly severe housing shortage and rising home prices in the United States. Historically, homelessness emerged as a national issue in the 1870s. ... Lack of available and affordable housing as a cause of homelessness was named by most of the mayors in 2004 when the United States Conference of Mayors surveyed the mayors of major cities on the extent and causes of urban homelessness. The next three causes identified by mayors, in rank order, were mental illness or the lack of needed services, substance use and lack of needed services, and low-paying jobs. The lowest ranking cause, cited by five mayors, was prisoner reentry. Other causes cited were unemployment, domestic violence, and poverty. The invisible laws that led to America’s housing crisis In the 1910s, US cities began enacting policies that would shape neighborhoods and, unintentionally, lay the roots for the severe housing shortage today: single-family zoning laws. Gated community n 2002, USA Today reported that approximately 40% of new builds in California were behind walls. By 1997, an estimated 20,000 gated communities had been built across the country. That year, estimates of the number of people in gated communities ranged from 4 million in 30,000 communities up to around 8 million. This growth continued and by 2009 figures from the American Housing Survey indicated that the number of people living in gated communities had risen to 11 million households. Setha Low, a psychologist who has studied gated communities and their residents, suggested this was likely an underestimate. ... Proponents of gated communities maintain that the reduction or exclusion of people who would be only passing through, or more generally, of all non-local people, makes any "stranger" much more recognisable in the closed local environment, and thus reduces crime danger. However, some have argued that, since only a very small proportion of all non-local people passing through the area are potential criminals, increased traffic should increase rather than decrease safety by having more people around whose presence could deter criminal behaviour or who could provide assistance during an incident. Another criticism is that gated communities offer a false sense of security. Some studies indicate that safety in gated communities may be more illusion than reality and that gated communities in suburban areas of the United States have no less crime than similar non-gated neighbourhoods. Gated communities are rare in continental Europe and Japan.

Health insurance coverage in the United States Despite being among the top world economic powers, the US remains the sole industrialized nation in the world without universal health care coverage. Prohibitively high cost is the primary reason Americans give for problems accessing health care. At approximately 30 million in 2019, higher than the entire population of Australia, the number of people without health insurance coverage in the United States is one of the primary concerns raised by advocates of health care reform. Lack of health insurance is associated with increased mortality, in the range 30-90 thousand deaths per year, depending on the study. Za sve je kriva naravno Obamacare. 4. Understanding the Opioid Overdose Epidemic he number of people who died from a drug overdose in 2021 was over six times the number in 1999. The number of drug overdose deaths increased more than 16% from 2020 to 2021. Over 75% of the nearly 107,000 drug overdose deaths in 2021 involved an opioid. From 2020 to 2021: - Opioid-involved death rates increased by over 15%. - Prescription opioid-involved death rates remained the same. - Heroin-involved death rates decreased nearly 32%. - Synthetic opioid-involved death rates (excluding methadone) increased over 22%1. From 1999-2021, nearly 645,000 people died from an overdose involving any opioid, including prescription and illicit opioids. This rise in opioid overdose deaths can be outlined in three distinct waves. 1. The first wave began with increased prescribing of opioids in the 1990s, with overdose deaths involving prescription opioids (natural and semi-synthetic opioids and methadone) increasing since at least 1999. 2 The second wave began in 2010, with rapid increases in overdose deaths involving heroin4. 3 The third wave began in 2013, with significant increases in overdose deaths involving synthetic opioids, particularly those involving illicitly manufactured fentany. The market for illicitly manufactured fentanyl continues to change, and it can be found in combination with heroin, counterfeit pills, and cocaine. Ko je kriv za sve to ? Naravno Biden, demokrati i ilegalni imigranti. Obratimo ipak malo paznju na 1. talas: Opioid epidemic in the United States There's an ongoing opioid epidemic in the United States, originating out of both medical prescriptions and illegal sources. The epidemic began in the United States in the late 1990s, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), when opioids were increasingly prescribed for pain management, resulting in a rise in overall opioid use throughout subsequent years. In the United States, there were approximately 109,600 drug-overdose-related deaths in the 12-month period ending January 31, 2023, at a rate of 300 deaths per day. From 1999 to 2020, nearly 841,000 people died from drug overdoses, with prescription and illicit opioids responsible for 500,000 of those deaths. ... The problem is significantly worse in rural areas, where socioeconomic variables, health behaviors, and accessibility to healthcare are responsible for a higher death rate. Teen use of opioids has been noticeably increasing, with prescription drugs used more than any illicit drug except cannabis: more than cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine combined. ... The potency and availability of opioids have made them popular as both medical treatments and recreational drugs. In 2018, the U.S. opioid prescription rate was 51.4 prescriptions per 100 people, equivalent to more than 168 million total opioid prescriptions. However, these substances also have high risks of addiction and overdose, and long-term use can cause tolerance and physical dependence. When people continue to use opioid medications beyond what a doctor prescribes, whether to minimize pain or induce euphoric feelings, it can mark the beginning stages of an opioid addiction. Also, in 2018, after being prescribed an opioid medication, about 10.3 million people ended up misusing it, and 47,600 people died from an overdose. The epidemic was described by Rolling Stone as a "uniquely American problem." The structure of the U.S. healthcare system, in which people not qualifying for government programs are required to obtain private insurance, favors prescribing drugs over more expensive therapies. According to Professor Judith Feinberg, "Most insurance, especially for poor people, won't pay for anything but a pill." Prescription rates for opioids in the United States are 40 percent higher than the rate in other developed countries such as Germany or Canada. While the rates of opioid prescriptions increased between 2001 and 2010, the prescription of non-opioid pain relievers (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) decreased from 38% to 29% of ambulatory visits in the same period,[48] and there has been no change in the amount of pain reported in the United States. 5. Mass shootings in the United States One definition is an act of public firearm violence—excluding gang killings, domestic violence, or terrorist acts sponsored by an organization—in which a shooter kills at least four victims. Using this definition, a 2016 study found that nearly one-third of the world's public mass shootings between 1966 and 2012 (90 of 292 incidents) occurred in the United States List of mass shootings in the United States What the data says about gun deaths in the U.S. In 2021, the most recent year for which complete data is available, 48,830 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S., according to the CDC. That figure includes gun murders and gun suicides, along with three less common types of gun-related deaths tracked by the CDC: those that were accidental, those that involved law enforcement and those whose circumstances could not be determined. ... The gun death rate in the U.S. is much higher than in most other nations, particularly developed nations. Gun Violence By The Numbers Every year, 117,345 people are shot. Among those: - 42,654 people die from gun violence - 76,725 people survive gunshot injuries Every year, 7,957 children and teens are shot in the United States. Among those: - 2,029 children and teens die from gun violence - 6,294 children and teens survive gunshot injuries Sve to naravno nema veze sa kolicinom dozvoljenog oruzja, nepoverenjem u drzavu, policiju i sugradjane. How Many Guns Are Circulating in the U.S.? In 2022, the total number of guns produced for the U.S. market reached 494 million. The number in circulation is lower due to attrition, but by how many is unclear. ... 7. Prisons Report Series: Preliminary Data Release The U.S. prison population was 1,230,100 on December 31, 2022, a 2% increase from 2021 (1,205,100). At yearend 2022, persons sentenced to more than 1 year under the legal authority of state and federal correctional authorities accounted for 96% (1,185,500) of the total U.S. prison population. Incarceration in the United States In 2023, over five million people are under supervision by the criminal justice system,[2][3] with nearly two million people incarcerated in state or federal prisons and local jails. The United States has the largest known prison population in the world, it has 5% of the worlds population, and 20% of the worlds incarcerated persons. Emigration from the United States There are no exact figures on how many Americans live abroad. The United States Census Bureau does not count Americans abroad, and individual U.S. embassies offer only rough estimates. In 1999, a Department of State estimate suggested that the number of Americans abroad may be between three million and six million.[87][95] In 2016, the agency estimated 9 million U.S. citizens were living abroad,[1] but these numbers are highly open to dispute as they often are unverified and can change rapidly. ... There are many reasons why Americans emigrate from the United States. Economic reasons include job or business opportunities, or a higher standard of living in another country. Others emigrate due to marriage or partnership to a foreigner, for religious or humanitarian purposes, or to seek adventure or experience a different culture.[74] Many decide to retire abroad seeking a lower cost of living, especially more affordable health care. Other reasons include political dissatisfaction, safety concerns and cultural issues such as racism.[77] Some Americans may also emigrate to evade legal liabilities; a common past case was evasion of mandatory military service.
  8. Adult Obesity Facts Obesity is a common, serious, and costly disease The US obesity prevalence was 41.9% in 2017 – March 2020. (NHANES, 2021) From 1999 –2000 through 2017 –March 2020, US obesity prevalence increased from 30.5% to 41.9%. During the same time, the prevalence of severe obesity increased from 4.7% to 9.2%. (NHANES, 2021) Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer. These are among the leading causes of preventable, premature death. The estimated annual medical cost of obesity in the United States was nearly $173 billion in 2019 dollars. Medical costs for adults who had obesity were $1,861 higher than medical costs for people with healthy weight. Obesity in the United States Obesity is common in the United States and is a major health issue associated with numerous diseases, specifically an increased risk of certain types of cancer, coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and cardiovascular disease, as well as significant increases in early mortality and economic costs.[1] ... The obesity rate has steadily increased since 1960–1962, where approximately 13% of American adults were obese. By 2014, figures from the CDC found that more than one-third (crude estimate 36.5%) of U.S. adults[9][10] and 17% of children were obese.[11] The National Center for Health Statistics at the CDC showed in their most up to date statistics that 42.4% of U.S. adults were obese as of 2017–2018 (43% for men and 41.9% for women).[12] ... Obesity is a major public health problem in the USA owing to its rapidly increasing prevalence, substantial mortality and morbidity, and growing healthcare costs.[26] Several studies have inquired about the relationship between community food environment and obesity is significant and inverse among US adults.[27] The large-scale study demonstrated a substantial and inverse relationship between the local food environment and adult obesity in the US using local spatially weighted regression. ... Common factors include an overconsumption of food and an insufficient amount of physical exercise. ... Other factors not directly related to caloric intake and activity levels that are believed to contribute to obesity include air conditioning,[29] the ability to delay gratification, and the thickness of the prefrontal cortex of the brain. ... The United States' high obesity rate is a major contributor to its relatively lower life expectancy in comparison with other high-income countries.[34] In the US, about 20% of cancer deaths in women and 14% of those in men are due to obesity. ... From 1980 to 2008, the prevalence of obesity in children aged 6 to 11 years tripled from 6.5% to 19.6%. The prevalence of obesity in teenagers more than tripled from 5% to 18.1% in the same time frame.

  12. Alternativne cinjenice, alternativni univerzum ? Socijalizam/komunizam/staljinizam ? BS. Sve zbog jedne stabilne narcisticke budale.

Govorimo o svim civilnim projektima - MS-21, SJ-100, Tu-214, Il-114 i Baikal.
