Radoye
https://www.racefans.net/2021/02/27/mercedes-and-venturi-formula-e-teams-excluded-from-qualifying-after-mortara-crash/ Quote Mercedes’ factory Formula E team and their powertrain customers Venturi have been excluded from Diriyah qualifying after Edoardo Mortara crashed heavily into barriers from a practice start. The top two cars in yesterday’s first Diriyah race were Mercedes-powered, Nyck de Vries winning for the factory team while Mortara followed him in a Mercedes-powered Venturi. However, at the end of today’s third free practice session, Mortara suffered a failure after performing a practice start which saw him accelerate, seemingly uncontrollably, colliding heavily with TecPro barriers. Mortara was extracted from the car, conscious and able to move his fingers, toes and legs. He was taken to a local hospital and has undergone preliminary scans, remaining conscious and aware throughout. The Venturi team reported that “initial evaluations suggest that the accident was the result of brake failure.” However, Mercedes engineers are still assessing the cause of the accident. Formula E race control has barred the remaining three Mercedes-powered cars from participating in qualifying qualifying session as a precaution, excluding factory drivers De Vries, Stoffel Vandoorne and Venturi driver Norman Nato. Radoye
Crvena zastava zavrsila drugu trku nakon teskog udesa Aleksa Lina: https://www.racefans.net/2021/02/27/bird-wins-lynn-taken-to-hospital-as-crash-ends-second-saudi-race-early/ Quote Sam Bird won a lively second Formula E race in Saudi Arabia which was curtailed by a red flag after an incident which left Alex Lynn needing hospital treatment. Multiple incidents which occured with 11 of the 45 minutes remaining triggered early end to the race, which was eventually red-flagged with less than three minutes remaining. The incident Lynn was involved in was not broadcast, but the Mahindra driver’s car is believed to have flipped onto its roll hoop. Mahindra subsequently confirmed he was “conscious, talking and on his way to hospital for checks”. Sebastien Buemi, Maximilian Guenther and Mitch Evans were also involved in the race-ending incident. Radoye
Quote Mahindra Racing driver Alex Lynn was discharged from hospital in Saudi Arabia after undergoing CT scans following his involvement in a heavy crash that led to the second race of the ABB Formula E World Championship season opener being stopped several minutes short of its allotted time. Lynn’s Mahindra entry collided with Mitch Evans’s Jaguar as the two battled for position in the braking zone for Turn 18. After getting airborne, Lynn’s car skidded down the track upside down and lodged into the barriers in the runoff area. Although the team reported he was conscious after being extricated from his wrecked car, Lynn was sent to the hospital for precautionary checks. With no significant injuries being found, Lynn has been cleared to race for Mahindra in the next Formula E round in Rome on April 10.
Radoye
Formula (On)e (rejects).
