bbc Estonia has requested a consultation with other Nato members after Russian warplanes violated its airspace on Friday. Three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets entered the Estonian skies "without permission and remained there for a total of 12 minutes" over the Gulf of Finland, the government said. Italy, Finland and Sweden scrambled jets under Nato's mission to bolster its eastern flank. A Nato spokesperson said it was "yet another example of reckless Russian behaviour and Nato's ability to respond". Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal said "Nato's response to any provocation must be united and strong". "We consider it essential to consult with our allies to ensure shared situational awareness and to agree on our next joint steps," Michal said. US President Donald Trump said on Friday: "I don't love it. I don't like when that happens. Could be big trouble." Estonia, which shares a border with Russia to the east, says this was the fifth Russian violation of its airspace this year. Officials said the Russian aircraft entered its airspace from the north-east and were intercepted by Finnish jets over the Gulf of Finland. Once inside Estonian airspace, Italian F-35 jets, based in Estonia, were deployed under Nato's Baltic Air Policing mission to escort the aircraft out. The government said the Russian jets had no flight plans, had their transponders turned off and also did not have two-way radio communication with Estonian air traffic control.

bbc Fifteen people have been charged with terrorism offences in Lithuania over the alleged Russian-backed detonation of parcels in Germany, Poland and the UK, prosecutors say. The suspects are accused of using delivery companies DHL and DPD to send four packages of explosives hidden in cosmetics containers from the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. Fires broke out in Germany, Poland and the UK in July last year, while the fourth parcel failed to ignite due to a malfunction. Lithuanian investigators say the plot was coordinated by individuals with links to Russian military intelligence services, and have previously said they were dry runs aimed at sabotaging flights to the US and Canada.

bbc Romanian far-right former presidential candidate Calin Georgescu has been charged with attempting to stage a coup after the first round of the presidential election was annulled last December. Horatiu Potra, a former French legionnaire and militia chief in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and 20 other people were also charged. The case rests on a planned raid on the Romanian capital Bucharest on 8 December, which police foiled. Romanian prosecutors describe a plot targeting Romania's constitutional order, involving Georgescu, Potra, their group, and alleged foreign intelligence links.

DW While the CDU is set for victory, the far-right AfD has tripled its share of voters in North Rhine-Westphalia since the last local elections in Germany's most populous state, early estimates show. Merz's CDU is set to take around 34% of the vote, followed by center-left SPD, with 22.5%, and the far-right AfD, with 16.5% — over three times more than the 5.1% the party secured in 2020. Sunday's polls were the first local elections since Chancellor Friedrich Merz took office in May. The AfD has made historic gains in recent years, becoming the second-strongest political force at the national level. Although its voter base is mainly from states in eastern Germany, the AfD is hoping to capitalize on the shift toward the right in western Germany.

DW US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he believed Moscow's war on Ukraine would end if all NATO countries stopped buying oil from Russia and and imposed tariffs of 50% to 100% on China for doing so. "I am ready to do major Sanctions on Russia when all NATO Nations have agreed, and started, to do the same thing, and when all NATO Nations STOP BUYING OIL FROM RUSSIA," he wrote in a post on his social media site Truth Social. He criticized the Western military alliance for demonstrating "far less than 100%" commitment to ending the war and also called it "shocking" that some NATO allies continue to purchase Russian petroleum, saying that it weakened their negotiating position. Turkey, which has the second-largest military in NATO, has continued to buy large quantities of oil from Russia despite Moscow's invasion of Ukraine. Hungary and Slovakia, which are also part of the US-dominated alliance, are also importing Russian energy. So far, Trump has repeatedly threatened new US sanctions on Moscow but has not followed through.

Izvini, ali ovo je vrlo naivno razmisljanje. Rusija ima razvijene kapacitete za rat sa NATO paktom. Svaka pojedinacna armija zemlje clanice NATOa apsolutno nema nikakve sanse protiv Rusije, osim, naravno USA.

cnn US inflation cooled off at the wholesale level in August, bolstering hopes that high tariffs aren’t yet causing prices to spiral out of control, fresh data showed Wednesday. However, economists caution, the better-than-expected reading could be a sign of a slowing economy and that shrinking businesses’ margins could foretell higher prices for consumers in the near future. Producer prices unexpectedly fell 0.1% in August, cooling annual inflation to 2.6% from a downwardly revised 3.1% in July, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data.

Ako je u pitanju bio test bbc If Poland managed to shoot down only four out of 19 (or two dozen, according to President Zelensky) drones that crossed into its airspace, that's a much lower success rate than demonstrated by Ukraine. Ukraine has consistently intercepted the vast majority of drones sent by Russia over the past years - for instance, 386 out of 415 (or 93%) this morning. Hardly impressive performance by Poland, especially given how much more hardware it had at its disposal.

The White House statement This morning, the Trump administration was notified by the United States military that as Israel was attacking Hamas, which very unfortunately was located in a section of Doha, the capital of Qatar, unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation and close ally of the United States that is working very hard and bravely taking risks with us to broker peace does not advance Israel or America's goals. However, eliminating Hamas, who have profited off the misery of those living in Gaza, is a worthy goal. President Trump immediately directed special envoy Witkoff to inform the Qataris of the impending attack, which he did. The president views Qatar as a strong ally and friend of the United States, and feels very badly about the location of this attack.

Jeziva noc i jutro za stanovnike Kijeva i Ukrajne bbc In his first response to Russia's overnight attacks, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged allies to "implement everything that was agreed upon in Paris". Writing on Telegram, Zelensky says Ukraine was hit by "more than 800 drones, 13 missiles, four of them ballistic". Citing reports that a 32-year-old woman and her two-month-old child was killed in Kyiv, Zelensky says: "Such murders now, when real diplomacy could have begun long ago, are a deliberate crime and a prolongation of the war". --- - Kyiv's main government building was hit in overnight drone strikes by Russia - the BBC saw smoke and explosions as the capital was targeted - It's very rare for Russian missiles and drones to hit right in the city centre, our correspondent writes, because of the concentration of air defence in the area - Elsewhere in the city, several multi-storey residential buildings were struck and partially destroyed in the attacks - two people have died, including an infant and 20 others are injured - Russia also attacked Kryvyi Rih - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's hometown - striking three infrastructure facilities

bbc Russia's Vladimir Putin has rejected Western proposals for a "reassurance force" in Ukraine the day after any ceasefire comes into place, following a Paris summit aimed at finalising plans for security guarantees. Putin sought to quash the allies' initiative, with a warning that any troops deployed to Ukraine would be "legitimate targets", especially if they appeared now, even though there are no plans for an immediate deployment.
