Haas has announced that its reserve driver Oliver Bearman will race for the squad in Formula 1 next year. The Ferrari Academy youngster had long been tipped for the seat in the wake of his impressive F1 debut at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he finished seventh for the Prancing Horse after a late call-up to replace Carlos Sainz. Bearman has been a member of Ferrari’s young driver programme since the end of 2021, having won that year’s Italian F4 championship. In 2022, he finished third overall in the F3 championship for Prema, prior to stepping up to F2 last year. He took four wins en route to sixth in the championship, while this year, off the back of a sprint race win in Austria last weekend with the underperforming Prema team, he is 14th currently. While Haas has announced Bearman, it has not yet decided on who will be his team-mate for 2025. It has been strongly linked with Esteban Ocon, who is leaving Alpine at the end of this season, but the Frenchman is also a candidate for Williams. Valtteri Bottas could also be a possibility, while current driver Kevin Magnussen hopes that improved results from him can convince Haas to give him another contract.

Nije to od juče, trebalo je cepati po Senni, Schumacheru, Hamiltonu, Grossjeanu, Magnussenu, you name it, mnogo ranije i oštrije.

Tu se apsolutno slažemo. Očigledno ide na pobedu po svaku, ali baš svaku cenu. Sinoć kasno sam odgledao trku, prema mom mišljenju vrlo dobra trka, puno trkanja, preticanja, Austrija većinom ne omaši. Bilo bi o čemu da se piše, ali pošto se ceo ovaj thread vrti oko Maxa i Landa da dodam i ja 2¢. Sad sam pogledao jedno 10 puta snimak, ne razumem što ste (skoro) svi zapenili? Prvo što mislim da je greška što je besomučno pokušavao da obidje Maxa u T3 iako bi bilo mnogo bolje da ga tu pripremi pa da ga obidje u T4 - objasnio Oscar, ali dobro, nema veze. Max ga je čitao u svakom pokušaju a ako ne ideš ovde na laktove, onda tu nemaš šta da tražiš - pitaj Leclerca. Pre sudara ga je Max regularno zatvorio levo, ostavio mu je dosta mesta da ide na ivičnjak, ne ni na travu ni u šoder, ili da uspori i pusti ga da mu oped ode. Ovo je za Landa bilo potpuno nepotrebno. Ako neko piše ovde da ga je cimnuo i posle sudara, naka objasni kako da kontrolišeš bolid na tri točka u krivini pri brzini +100km/h. Trka sasvim dobra, najbolji show Alpine za poslednje 2 godine, Leclerc upropastio trku greškom u kvalama, George uzeo ni kriv ni dužan, imam utisak da će Oscar biti ubrzo veće ime nego Lando, oba Haasa na bodovima, Perez sramotan a Sainz opet posle gubitka pozicije rapidan pad performanse. Da je trajala trka još 5 krugova obišao bi ga i Lewis.

Christian Horner has responded to comments from Mercedes and Jos Verstappen, which he perceived as slights against him and Red Bull. Čeka nas 11. trka u sezoni i polako se približavamo ka polovini sezone. Ono što je u poslednjim sezonama bilo skoro nezamislivo, u vreme surove dominacije MGP i RBR izgleda da se konačno završilo u ovoj sezoni. McLaren se izuzetno popravio, Ferrari ne baš konzistentan ali bolji nego ranije, MGP ima svetle momente i dobre rezultate. Koliko je Max dobar pilot, ili ako hoćete, koliko RB20 više nije superioran bolid najbolje pokazuje Perez koji ima upola manje bodova a ispred njega su Norris i oba Ferrarija. Zanimljiva statistika je da od aktivnih pilota 4 pobede ima Max, 2 Bottas a Hamilton(!) i Leclerc po jednu. Najuspešniji konstrukteri su Ferrari i McLaren sa po 6 pobeda, MGP 5 a Lotus i RBR po 4. Mislim da ćemo se svi ovde složiti da teško možemo da nadjemo više oduran tim u F1 nego što je RBR. Ali šta je kompanija RB uradila za popularizaciju F1 i ekstremnih sportova nema u modernoj istoriji premca. Sama pista je u prekrasnom alpskom okruženju, na nadmorskoj visini od cca 700m, nekad se vidi i sneg koji se još uvek drži na vrhovima okolnih planina. Ceo vikend je doživljaj a race day je neverovatan show, nešto takvo nema na drugim trkama. Organizacija je uvek (kad sam bio) perfektna a prateći program je apsolutno TOP. Zahvaljujući parama od šećerne vodice i genijima sportskog marketinga iz RBR sam imao tu priliku, sreću i čast da vidim žive legende u istorijskim F1 bolidima ili CanAm autima. Lauda, Piquet, Prost, Patrese, mladi Brabham, Alesi, Berger, pa i oni koje sam video u regularnim trkama i u reviji, JPM, DC, Wurz itd... Čak i jednooki Helmut Marko prošle godine, mislim u CanAm Loli. Prijatan vikend, uživajte u trkanju i neka najbolji (na žalost, ne verujem da će to biti neko drugi nego Max) pobedi!
