Nekako nam se čini da se Ferari uz jak Red Bul počinje plašiti čak i sopstvene senke. Mercedes je izuzetno jak, F1.5 je onakva baš kako smo zamišljali, samo što Rejsing Pojnt donosi prve stvari B verzije pa će to biti interesantno za ispratiti.

Bilo kako bilo, Hokenhajmring će biti poprište još jednog spektakla.

U crticama, blic vesti uoči VN Nemačke:

- Mercedes proslavlja 125. godinu u motorsportu, za tu priliku doneli su one-off livreju
- Daniel Rikjardo se vuče po sudovima jer navodno duguje 10.000.000 funti bivšem menadžeru
- Sebastijan Fetel je još uvjek pod utiskom loših kvala u Velikoj Britaniji
- Luis Hamilton je opisao 2019. godinu kao "najjaču ikad"
- Karlos Sainc: "Meklaren će se truditi nastaviti s jakim tempom i u Nemačkoj"
- Rejsing Pojnt donosi B secifikaciju bolida u Nemačkoj, to će biti prvi deo nadogradnji a onaj drugi stiže u Mađarskoj
- Pireli očekuje da će gume dugo trajati ovde
- Lendo Noris uzbuđen jer hoće iskusiti vožnju na Hokenhajmringu (njegovu prvu ikad ovde s F1 bolidom)
- Niko Hulkenberg ne garantuje da će Reno postati top ekipa u dogledno vreme
- Toto Vulf očekuje da će visoke temperature uticati na njihov tempo
- Kevin Magnusen će voziti bolid s svežim nadogradnjama, Romain Grosjean još uvek ostaje kod paketa iz Australije

Ovaj, jedna mala ispravka - Stadium je napravljen kad je gradjen autoban koji je odsekao zapadnu trecinu staze. Jos onda je bilo reci da se staza kompletno zatvori ali su smislili to sa stadiumom. Stadium je inace cinio celinu sa jednom precicom odmah iznad njega za kratku stazu za lokalne auto-klubove, dok je dugacka koristena za nacionalna i internacionalna takmicenja. Inace staza je konstantno moneta za potkusurivanje medju lokalnim politicarima u Kreis-u i uvek neko preti da ce da je zatvori ako Kreis ne dobije vise novaca od savezne ili pokrajinske vlade ili od privatnog sektora. A VN Nemacke je bitan izvor novca za sve navedene, pa ima rasta i da se ucenjuje.

 

(Tu imam familiju u 9 km udaljenom Ketsch am Rhein, jedan rodjak se petlja(o) u politiku pa sam upucen u pricu...)

Mercedes paint cars white for German Grand Prix

Mercedes have revealed a special white livery for this weekend’s German Grand Prix.

 

The team, whose parent company is also the title sponsor of the Hockenheim race, is commemorating 125 years of motorsport with a “commemorative livery” this weekend.

 

According to Mercedes, its original white colouring was removed in the 1930s in order to save weight. In press material sent out ahead of the German Grand Prix, Mercedes explained why the white paint was scraped off their cars at the 1934 Eifelrennen.

 

“The Eifelrennen, held on 3 June 1934 at the Nürburgring, was the first race in which the Mercedes-Benz W25 competed. The car was a newly designed race car for the 1934 Grand Prix season, which saw the introduction of a new set of regulations that limited the total weight of the car to 750 kilograms without fuel, oil, coolant, and tyres.

 

Apart from the maximum weight the regulations left a lot of room for innovation, not restricting the design of the car in any other way. The Mercedes-Benz W25 followed a classic vehicle architecture; the rear-wheel drive car was powered by a supercharged 3.4-litre in-line 8-cylinder engine that was mounted in the front and produced an output of 354 hp (260 kW).

 

“It was a mighty race car, but according to Silver Arrows legend there was one small issue with it: when the W25 was weighed the day before its first race, it was slightly above the weight limit of 750 kg. Allegedly, the team was able to bring the weight down to within regulatory limits by scraping off its white paint.

“Without the white paint, the metal bodywork of the car was exposed, giving it a silver look: the first Silver Arrow was born.”

 

Mercedes has also restored its heritage red numbering which was also used on its F1 from 2010 until last year.

Manja je razlika, Hamiltonu je ponisten najbrzi krug.

Sudije ce igrati jako bitnu ulogu danas, a i preciznost vozaca jer je najavljeno da ce se brisati vremena ako se u prvoj ili poslednjoj krivini napusti staza (sva 4 tocka istovremeno iza bele linije) makar i za centimetar, a svi to rade, pogotovo u poslednjoj, tako da ce preciznost u toj krivini vredeti par desetinki. Tek ce bit haos ako padne kisa, mislim da ni u jednom segmentu necemo znati rezultate odmah po zavrsetku, vec tek nakon sto sudije pregledaju sve snimke. Posebno ce biti ludilo u sredini i zestoka borba i za Q2 i Q3 jer svi timovi sem Mercedesa, Ferarija, Maxa i mucenog Vilijamsa su u pola sekunde.

Qualifying over for Vettel

The German is getting out of his car - and it looks like his qualifying is done and dusted. That is dreadfully disappointing for the home fans who have come to see their hero. On top of the disappointment of today, it will give the Scuderia man a very long day tomorrow from the back of the field.
