cnn There has been no comment so far from Kyiv or Moscow on the US proposal. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed willingness to agree to a peace deal with Moscow but said last month that his government would not recognize any occupied territories as Russian, calling that a “red line.”

bbc "Russian artillery can still be heard in certain directions of the front, regardless of the Russian leader's promise of silence," he adds, noting that the situation "has become quieter" in some areas. Zelensky repeats that a proposal for a 30-day full and unconditional ceasefire "remains on the table" and says that Ukraine's actions are "symmetrical" to Russia's.

bbc A senior Ukrainian military officer has told the BBC that his unit and others received orders to stop firing at Russian positions minutes after an Easter ceasefire announced by Vladimir Putin was due to start. According to this officer, units were told to record photo and video evidence of violations of the truce, and to return fire if needed. The officer told the BBC that the announcement had “caught everyone by surprise” and that while most wanted a ceasefire, there was still confusion at the frontline about what it would entail.

Rubio je juce telefonski pricao i sa Lavrovim, mozda su nesto konkretno i dogovorili cnn “I want to update the prime minister on some of the negotiations between Russia, Ukraine, and also some of the things that have happened even in the past 24 hours,” Vance said in Rome at a bilateral meeting with Italy Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. “I think we have some interesting things to report on, of course, in private, some negotiations. I won’t prejudge them, but we do feel optimistic that we can hopefully bring this war, this very brutal war, to a close.”

bbc The US will abandon trying to broker a Russia-Ukraine peace deal within days unless there are clear signs a truce can be reached, the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has warned. Rubio said the US wanted to help end the war but was willing to move on if there were no immediate signs of progress. "We're not going to continue with this endeavour for weeks and months on end," Rubio said, adding that the US had "other priorities to focus on".

Prosto covek ne zna gde vise uspeha ima Trumpova administracija, ekonomiji, unutrasnjoj ili spoljasnjoj politici, jednostavno svuda cveta cvece ovog proloca. cnn If Trump’s pledge to end the war in a day was far-fetched, the hope to secure a full truce by Easter – this weekend – also looks likely to fail. Russia has ramped up its strikes on Ukraine in recent weeks, despite Washington’s overtures to Moscow. The Center for Countering Disinformation, a Ukrainian think-tank, has pointed out that the supposed truce has done little to constrain Russia’s aggression. In the 22 days after the truce, the Russian army killed nearly 2.5 times more Ukrainians than during the same period before it was announced, the Center said in an update Tuesday.

cnn US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, President Donald Trump’s international envoy, are set to meet Ukrainian officials in Paris at a summit Thursday aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defenses against Russia’s unrelenting invasion.

Just another day in the office for Mr False Claims cnn China’s dominance of the rare earths supply chain has emerged as among its most potent tools in a renewed trade war with the United States president. The minerals – used to power everything from iPhones to electric vehicles – are vital components for the kinds of advanced technology that will define the future. And unlike tariffs, it’s a front where Trump has little room to retaliate in kind. --- Shares of Boeing fell Tuesday following a report that China has halted the delivery of all its jets to airlines in the country as part of an escalating trade war that has enveloped the world’s two biggest economies. bbc Microchip maker Nvidia said it would be hit with $5.5bn (£4.2bn) in costs after the US government tightened export rules to China.

bbc A hairdresser from St Petersburg has been given a jail term of five years and two months on a charge of spreading fake news about the Russian army. Anna Alexandrova denied posting eight anti-war messages on social media, insisting the case was motivated by a squabble over land with a neighbour. Her neighbour told the BBC that she had complained to prosecutors after Alexandrova had sent her daughter pictures of the war in Ukraine. Discrediting the armed forces and intentionally spreading fake news about the military became a crime in Russia within weeks of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

But, Mr False Claims, ladies and gentlemen.

bbc Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has invited Donald Trump to visit his country ahead of any deal with Russia to end the war. "Please, before any kind of decisions, any kind of forms of negotiations, come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead," Zelensky said in an interview for CBS's 60 Minutes programme. The interview was recorded before a Russian missile hit the city of Sumy, killing 34 people and injuring 117 others.

CBS istrazivanje President Donald Trump’s approval ratings for handling the economy and inflation have dropped, according to a new poll from CBS News. • The economy and inflation: All told, 44% approve and 56% disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy, while only 40% approve and 60% disapprove on his handling of inflation. His approval numbers for both measures are down four points since late March. • Overall approval rating: This metric now stands at 47% in the CBS poll, down from 50% in March. • Who’s responsible? A majority, 54% see Trump’s policies as more responsible for the state of the economy than former President Joe Biden’s policies, with 21% saying Biden is more responsible and 20% that both bear equal responsibility. • State of the economy: A little over half (53%) say the economy is currently getting worse, and most see its current state as poor (59%). • Impact on Americans: About half of respondents, 49%, said Trump’s policies are making them financially worse off, more than double the 21% who say their finances are benefitting from his policies. Naravno, ova igranka sa taksama bi mogla da pokaze pravo lice vodje i nova krsenja zakona, mada sumnjam da ce MAGA to da dozvoli cnn Democrats ramped up their calls today for an investigation into whether President Donald Trump intentionally manipulated the market when he told Americans to invest right before announcing a 90-day pause on tariffs. “There’s enough smoke here that should demand congressional hearings,” New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” today. “These are real, legitimate, justifiable questions, and not to have hearings, not to do any kind of oversight undermines the faith we have in our government.” Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, pressed by CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” on whether she’s seen evidence of insider trading after she called on the Securities and Exchange Commission to investigate the issue, said “that’s what investigations are for.” “It’s entirely appropriate to have an investigation to make sure that Donald Trump, Donald Trump’s family, Donald Trump’s inner circle, didn’t get advanced information and trade on that information,” she said, pointing to her own bill banning trade on individual stocks for members of Congress, which she said has bipartisan support.

Jos informacija i reakcije na ovaj stravican napad cnn Zelensky said the deadly strikes on Sumy were carried out by ballistic missiles and called for a “strong response from the world” in a statement. “Without pressure on the aggressor, peace is impossible. Talking has never stopped ballistic missiles and bombs. We need to treat Russia as a terrorist deserves.” The strikes hit the city center on Palm Sunday as residents were attending church services on one of the busiest church-going days of the year. Two ballistic missiles were fired by Russia into the city center, said Volodymyr Artyukh, head of the military administration in the region. “At that time, a lot of people were on the street,” he said. Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha called it “absolute evil” to launch the attacks on a Christian holiday and noted that the missiles hit a residential area of the city. “We urge partners to provide Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities and increase pressure on Moscow,” Sybiha said in a statement posted to X. “Strength is the only language they can understand and the only way to put an end to the horrific terror.” Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, called the incident a “horrific example of Russia intensifying attacks while Ukraine has accepted an unconditional ceasefire.” French President Emmanuel Macron also reacted saying “strong measures” are needed to impose a ceasefire. The UN’s Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine Matthias Schmale condemned the strike “in the strongest possible terms” and noted that international humanitarian law “strictly prohibits attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure.”

CNN Russian missiles hit the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy in the deadliest attack this year, killing at least 32 people, including two children, as residents gathered for Sunday church services, local authorities said. At least 84 people, including ten children, have also been wounded in the strikes on the city’s center, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, making it the worst single attack on Ukrainian civilians since 2023. Last week, a Russian missile attack killed 20 people in the central city of Kryvyi Rih.
