...I stick to the pattern of the last piece, simply translating my two pieces released on Primorski Wednesday (defeat of Serbia) and Thursday (US collapse).

As you can see I didn't go down particularly light. Premise: in the prediction I had written that Serbia-Argentina would have been "nema problema" and that in USA-France the USA would have won, because in a match definitely fought the French boiled balls would still have found a way to lose .

First contribution:

"There was no problem. For Argentina, of course. When, during the match between Spain and Poland, I was still mulling over what I had just seen - and I saw things that never human had ever seen - I could finally understand what had left me so bewildered. I concluded that reality is still much worse than, even in my cosmic pessimism, in my heart (perhaps unconsciously) I thought. As I have said many times and today I only confirm it, the current NBA kills the basketball soul of the player who plays it. And it was precisely for this reason, I say softly, that I put aside my sympathies (jugo) slave and I, almost feeling a little ashamed, enjoyed the victory of the Argentines. Basketball has won, healthy, intelligent, combative, ultimately human basketball. The Argentines took the field with a formation that seemed to represent Lilliput as opposed to Gulliver giants. I must confess that the South Americans felt sorry for me, as they reminded me of my old Polet (the famous team with two plays, eight guards and a very small wing on the roster) . And next to all this they had in the center position a middle-aged man with graying hair who seemed to be there by mistake, out of a veteran tournament. And then the game began: the Lilliputians looked like a swarm of wasps ,   d if they were as fanatical as they were productive with perfect cooperation between the five of them in the field, and in attack they played in such an ancient way that the Serbs went out of their minds, as they did not expect anyone to think of attacking them in a way so much antediluvian. Hear, hear: they played with a real play that held all the strings in the game! And not only that, the escape from the veteran games dispensed basketball lessons to all the Serbian giants who never knew where he would arrive and what he would do. Evidently they had never been in front of the real basketball, as the middle-aged gentleman named Luis Scola played exactly according to all the rules, now ended in oblivion, which had taught me centuries ago about how a strong wing should move .   Really unheard of and revolutionary! On the other hand, the play Campazzo, which until recently was a "modern" guard, read casinista, after a couple of years of school in Madrid, finally understood what a play should do and now adheres to it beautifully. The Argentines all the time knew exactly what they wanted, they played in an extremely disciplined and concentrated way in defense, in an intelligent and reasoned way in attack, where everyone knew at every moment who drinks and who pays. In short they excited me.

At the same time, however, I must immediately say that I felt ashamed for the Serbs. Above all because the game that had the joy of the game itself as a trademark has completely betrayed their tradition of beautiful, intelligent, lively, even crafty gambling. I want to be deliberately cruel: at one moment it seemed that a surgeon who had turned them into eunuchs had visited them at night. I would never have believed that one day I saw such a listless, heavy, gloomy Serbia. The illuminating example of what I am saying is Nikola Joki ć, a star in Denver (can it be? - the NBA,  I don't watch it, because it revolts me). The boy has a beastly physique and is both loose and coordinated, has basketball talent and a fairy hand. But it is an incurable total pappamolla(namby-pamby). Instead of crushing the ball at the head of the poor Argentine dwarves at every action, he normally passed the ball out again with no help whatsoever. Still less in defense, where together with the companion Bjelica (also an NBA player) for the most part he looked at the elderly gentleman who filled their basket in every way. And the much vaunted Bogdanovi ć has also made his homework, but much more is expected from a true leader. For example, we could look at the images of Dejan Bodiroga's last quarter in the 2002 final against Argentina (which at the time was incomparably more powerful than the current one, if only because Scola was still young ) to finally understand what he wants say to be a true leader. In short: the cancer named NBA killed Serbia. Rest in peace."

Second contribution, the next day:

"Deja vu. Already seen yesterday, so I can only repeat myself and find nothing new to say. Yesterday I said that I was overwhelmed by the technical deficiencies and the total strategic and tactical foolishness of the NBA players. I also said that I knew it, and because of this I can't watch that circus, but I couldn't imagine that the situation was so serious. And this was the reason why I made myself laugh behind predicting for Serbia "nema problem" and that the US would have beaten France in spite of everything. I was wrong, tremendously, because the world basketball situation is much more serious than I thought. I know very well that the myth of the NBA is strongly rooted above all among young people, fascinated by the acrobatics and by the athletic exploits they see, indoctrinated also by the powerful propaganda machine of the NBA that is brilliantly able to sell fireflies for lanterns. So I also know that my war against the NBA is the battle of Don Quixote against the windmills, but I also know that I have to insist, because if I succeed even one of them will open his eyes so that he can see what is happening on the seriously, then my war won't have been in vain. What I want is that the people who care about basketball watch the NBA games for what they are in essence and see for themselves and judge with their own heads how much real basketball there is. There really isn't any for me.

The USA representative for the World Championships was put together in a hurry and all the big stars refused to participate. Because all of them, when at the previous World Cup there were always several (for example Kevin Durant and, if you are interested in my opinion, Durant himself, and he alone, could have been a star even in the golden age of American basketball, the one of the biggest three ever, Magic, Bird and Jordan), is an interesting question that deserves a separate analysis. But it is the same one formed by very prominent players in their clubs and that, even if they are not superstelle, they are however very quoted. They are trained by the best coach they have there, actually the only one who knows and appreciates international basketball, so they should still be a very strong team, which expresses the school and the tradition of the cradle and the world's greatest basketball superpower. Today they played the quarter-final against France. Even France is contaminated by NBA players and so I thought that the Americans would win, as I expected the French to lose their heads, to start playing in one against five and so on.

However, I have not taken into consideration the fact that France also has players who have not had the opportunity to become completely infected during their stay there and who have returned home early (De Colo) and that their center owner Rudy Gobert is yes NBA player, but in his club he is exclusively the clean or king of boards, absolute specialist, and therefore could not ruin France with strange personal initiatives . And, toh, only this was enough. The game was balanced like everyone (me too!) We expected, in the end it went point to point and the Americans started to play as they use there with one who takes the ball in the man of Providence , the others recognize his role and are impaled to see what he does, and he crashes into the opposing defense deployed. It happened punctually : Gobert found himself in a basketball he was familiar with and he did what they pay him handsomely, that is, he stopped everything that passed by his parts, the USA lost the ball after the ball with stubborn constancy and in the end they lost as total (sorry) jerks, which is precisely what they are in basketball terms. Incredible, impossible, unheard of, repulsive.

Then Australia beat the striking Czech Republic in a beautiful game and played correctly on both sides . And even if the latter lost against a team that wouldn't surprise me at all if it came to the end, it was really refreshing to see how you can play well and with dignity at the highest level even with a team made up of objectively mediocre players, Satoranjski apart from. "
